Tert-Butylhydroquinone
Tert-butyl hydroquinone was first developed and synthesized by the United States in 1978 as a low-toxicity, high-efficiency, oil-soluble phenolic antioxidant. Especially when used in the food industry, its biggest feature is that it does not change the original properties of the food. Because of its unique flavor, it is favored by the global food industry. Furthermore, tert-butylhydroquinone does not cause flavor or color changes to metal ions such as iron ions or copper ions. It is different from the existing food antioxidants BHA, BHT, and PG. Compared with others, the antioxidant capacity is as high as 5-7 times.

Tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), also known as tert-butylhydroquinone, white crystalline powder with a point of 126.5-128.5 ℃ point of 300 ℃ CAS No.: 1948-33-0, easily soluble in alcohols and waking up to the majority of fats and oils, especially vegetable oils antioxidant function of the most effective. Tertiary butylhydroquinone (t butylhydroquinone), referred to as TBHQ molecular formula for CH1402, molecular weight of 166.22.
Tert-butylhydroquinone is white to light grey crystalline powder with slight special smell, soluble in ethanol, acetic acid, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol and oil, etc., insoluble in water (25 ℃ <1%: 95 ℃﹤5%) TBHQ is a kind of oil-soluble antioxidant, which can prevent or prolong the oxidation of oil and fat deterioration in food.
Tert-butylhydroquinone is synergistic: it is used synergistically with other antioxidants (e.g. BHA, B HT) and chelating agents (e.g. citric acid, etc.).
TBHQ should be fully soluble and evenly dispersed in fats and oils, otherwise the antioxidant effect will be impaired.
Some organic acids and their coolants can enhance the activity of TBHQ. It is better to mix with 0010.02% citric acid.
This product should not be mixed with PG (propyl gallate). Avoid using this product under strong alkaline conditions.
